Jules sits in her Fiat, waiting for God to reveal His presence. As she waits for the Lord, her gaze fixes on the small details of a Smith and Wesson resting on her skirt. It’s not easy for a girl struggling between two opinions—good and evil—while navigating the burdens of life. What else is a woman on the edge of adulthood to do?
She believes her life depends on a saving grace as streaks of lights pass her on the road. "I'm not leaving until I see you," she says. "I need you or else."
In the passing minutes, Jules closes her eyes only to awaken to a rumbling sound as darkness fills the sky. She sees people fleeing as an ominous cloud forms in the distance. Studying what appears to be shaping into a funnel, she clutches the pistol as her car shakes for dear life, contemplating her own.
“Be still and know, Jules,” she hears a voice say.
“What?” she asks, peering around.
“Drive four miles down the road. Go!”
Her engine starts, and away from darkness she escapes until she reaches four miles. Jules scans the area when her head slowly stops. Be Still and Know, a sign says, outside of a small, brick house. Accepting New Clients. Come In, Let's Talk. At this discovery, she gazes towards the sky and belts out an uncontrollable sob.
